Uber is cashing in on Charlotte’s love of delivery food services with UberEATS.
It’s been rolled out in over 50 cities and 13 countries since 2014, and as of this week, Charlotte has finally landed on the list.
In a standalone app or on the UberEATS website, users, whose profiles still fall under the umbrella of their Uber account, order food from over 100 restaurants in the Charlotte area to be delivered by Uber drivers.
Payment is still taken directly from the linked credit or debit card, and once the order is in, each step from preparation to delivery can be tracked.
Restaurants that have already joined the platform include Picante Mexican Grill, Crispy Crêpe, Pinky’s Westside Grill and 204 North.
On both the app and website, UberEATS allows users to search by food type, down to Latin Fusion, Vegetarian Friendly and Tex Mex options.
I took one for the team and tried it for you.
It feels and looks a lot like Postmates, and it’s intuitive to use.
I ordered a build-your-own-bowl from Sabor, which was slated for an arrival time of under 30 minutes to the Agenda’s doorstep.
The delivery didn’t arrive for 45 minutes or so, and naturally I tracked it the entire time. Yesterday was the first day of UberEATS service here in Charlotte, so I would assume operations and timing estimates will be tightened over time.
But it did show up warm and, most importantly, right.

Bring me back to life, Sabor
Delivery is normally $4.99, but the Agenda received a custom code from UberEATS that’ll hook new users like you up with two, $5 credits. Just enter ‘CLTAGENDAEATS’.
You can thank us Saturday, when you don’t have to move to find a hangover cure.
