I knew the Myers Park Harris Teeter had a bar, but I honestly thought it was going to be crappy. Boy was I wrong — it’s amazing.
Sure, turning left into this Teeter is a nightmare, but even beer snobs will love the second-floor Harris Teeter bar.
The selection is outstanding. The service is more intelligent and thoughtful than your typical bar.
This is the fancy new(ish) Harris Teeter on the corner of the busy intersection of Providence and Queens. The exact address is 1015 Providence Road.
Take the elevator or stairs to the second floor. On your left, you’ll find the bar — serving customers from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., every day.
“I’ve worked well-known bars like McCormick & Schmick’s and for smaller restaurant groups, but I got tired of the hours,” said Travis, the bar manager. Travis greeted a customer by name, which showed me that he understands hospitality. I also love that there are Myers Park Harris Teeter bar regulars.
The inside bar has about 12 high top chairs at the bar and 4 high top tables. 2 beers on draft.
To start, I had Travis pour me a 9.6% Sierra Nevada Triple IPA. Since it wasn’t a Monday or Wednesday, I had to pay full price — $3.
Travis rotates kegs depending on the seasons and what’s he’s interested in. We’re talking premium beers. While I was there, a keg was kicked and they were putting on Lenny Boy’s Double IPA, Booty Call (8.7%).
The Teeter has 2 taps. I have fragile internet tastes, so a 9.6% Triple IPA makes me feel funny. Cool glass too. Goblet glasses of beer make me feel both medieval and sophisticated.

- Friday: 1/2 priced wines by the glass
- Saturday: Wine flights are $6 & all $3 beers are $2
Because they’re a grocery store, this Myers Park Harris Teeter is able to offer unbeatable prices on premium beer and wine.
Love the mix of local beers like Sycamore’s Countryside IPA and national beers like Bells Two Hearted Ale.

If you’re looking for a date night activity, pre-game at Harris Teeter for cheap, then walk 50 yards to Lumiere (which only has a tiny 3-seat bar) for dinner. If you don’t have reservations and Lumiere has a wait, they’ll also call/text you as you sip inexpensive vino on the Harris Teeter porch.

Unbeatable prices. Excellent pre-game bar before going out to Napa on Providence, Primo and if you don’t mind a walk – RuRu’s and Stagioni.
I swear, the second-story patio doesn’t feel like you’re in a Harris Teeter.
Snacks? Buy anything inside the store or have them prepare a meal for you. Travis is also working on charcuterie boards (love this idea).
Oh, and live music on Friday nights.
The closest thing to the Myers Park Harris Teeter bar, is the Queen’s Corner Bar in Whole Foods. $3 pints on Mondays and Wednesdays and $5 beer flights on Saturday and Sunday.
I’d never thought I’d say this, but happy hour or pre-game dinner drink at the Myers Park Harris Teeter is a Charlotte must-do activity. The prices and service are addicting.
