Since Oak Steakhouse opened in May, they’ve impressed us with their signature “Oak” burger, pork ravioli and Brussels sprouts.

[Agenda story: Oak Steakhouse opens in SouthPark this week. Take a look inside and see the food]

Now they’re hitting Charlotte with a brunch menu.

The Agenda got to taste some of the new brunch items. Here’s your sneak peak.

The Biscuit and Gravy Plate

I mean, this looks unreal. The biscuit and bacon melt in your mouth. And these breakfast potatoes are EVERYTHING — crispy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. They don’t need it, but I got a side of ketchup for dipping. ($12)

House-made buttermilk biscuit, Benton’s bacon, eggs your way and pepper gravy. Served with breakfast potatoes.

Shrimp and Grits

The presentation almost looks too good to mess up. These aren’t your average grits — the chorizo and onions give them a little kick, and the pepper gravy compliments nicely. ($17)

Anson Mills grits, sauteed shrimp, chorizo, onions and pepper gravy.

The Oak Skillet

Basically just a hodgepodge of really yummy stuff, and I enjoyed every single bite. Even Executive Chef Alex was impressed with my food intake. ($13)

House-made sausage, breakfast potatoes, sauteed onions, peppers, and scrambled eggs, topped with pepper gravy.

The menu has a wide variety, which leaves no option for anyone to be picky. See the full menu here.

Oak’s brunch service came at a good time. My family’s been looking for a new spot because waiting in line on Sunday for an hour at the Original Pancake House just isn’t cutting it anymore.
