What you will do:
Operates across a wide technical scope for assignment of technical approach, budget action, decision and allocation of resources on current project assignments.
Leads design review of special or complex equipment or products for critical (internal/external) customers.
Provides leadership, technical advice and counsel to group engineers.
Directs and manages the work of assigned professionals and non-exempts.
Reviews progress and procedures progress reports, budget and release reviews against plan for assigned products and projects. Corrects deficiencies and takes actions to bring performance back to plan.
Conducts presentations with suppliers, customers and various internal departments to obtain input on, agreement with and understanding of project objectives and schedules.
Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Company and the community.
Maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
Performs those administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the department, including the selection and development of employees, pay administration, budget administration, employee safety, employee counseling and motivation.
Leads setting organization goals and objectives, planning, organizing, integrating and measuring the work performed within the department and ensures adequate and continuous control is exercised over the activities affecting quality.
Establishes and maintains effective work relationships with internal and external customers which broadly includes suppliers and stakeholders.

How you’re qualified:
Bachelors’ in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Process, Electrical, etc.).
7+ years of successful hands-on engineering/maintenance management experience in an industrial environment, preferably a high tech manufacturing business.
Professional Engineer certification a plus.
5+ years in environment geared toward LEAN/Six Sigma practices.
Understanding of maintenance and PLC controls also desirable.
Experience with various computer systems including AutoCAD and MP2.
