Bonsai Fusion, an Uptown sushi restaurant inside 7th Street Public Market, recently debuted new Poke Bonsai and Bonsai Burrito menus.
The success of Bonsai’s original sushi burrito has spurred the menu innovation. I’m bullish on sushi menu innovation, :).
Poke is raw fish salad. It’s a traditional Hawaiian dish. And it’s freaking delicious.
The Poke Bonsai menu includes Tuna Poke, Salmon Poke, Seafood Trio, Yellowtail Poke and Tofu Poke. A small costs $8 and a large costs $14.
I highly recommend the Tuna Poke – diced tuna and avocado, edamame, tossed in a ginger soy sauce with masago, shallots, green peppers and scallion served over rice and topped with finely cut scallions.

These bowls are so cute, you’ll want to snuggle with them.

These are the large ($14) potions. Large portions have rice in a separate container, small portions ($8) have the salad on top of the rice in the same container.
Bonsai Fusion also rolled out 5 new sushi burrito options.
Bonsai’s new burrito menu includes: The “OG” aka Hulk, Curryness (tofu), Chop Chop (assortment of raw fish), Very Veggie aka Futomaki (veggies), Everything Well Done (spicy crab), and The Hulk Smash (a spicy version of the Hulk). All burritos are $11.

What’s wrapped inside this gorgeous OG aka The Hulk sushi burrito tortilla? Spicy tuna, edamame hummus, spring mix, carrots, beets, cilantro, jalapeño, avocado and a little chipotle honey sauce.
You won’t still be hungry, but if you want to put yourself in a sushi coma, add an order of nigiri for good measure.
And if you’re feeling adventurous, try the Malibu Barbie — Bonsai hot sauce you have to sign a waiver to eat.

That name tho
