Real estate apps are addicting, even if you’re not in the market for a house. But they can also be depressing.
Charlotte’s housing market is continuing to boom, with the median sales price in Mecklenburg County up nearly 40 percent in the last five years.
The pace of new construction is increasing, too — albeit slowly. The top 30 homebuilders constructed about 2,800 new homes in 2016, compared with about 2,670 the year before.
While a lot of these new homes are luxury homes selling for top-dollar, several builders are constructing “starter homes” within reach of the average first-time homebuyer.
