Ah, Ballantyne. Do you love it yet? Maybe living here is not in the 5-year plan, but working here should be. Ballantyne Corporate Park is first class for work and play.
Ballantyne Corporate Park (BCP) is a 535 acre master-planned business community that has 4 million square feet of commercial Class A space. There are hundreds of companies that choose to call BCP home. Here’s an industry breakdown of the 267 companies posted on BCP’s directory listing.
When BCP tenants are not working hard, there’s plenty of evidence there’s some hardly working going on. It’s apparent they love their golf, here’s the front nine proof that BCP takes play seriously.
(1) Golfing after parking the car. This is the only thing I can surmise when there’s a putting green in the middle of the nicest parking lot I’ve ever seen. No chipping or heels on the green, ladies and gentlemen.
(2) Parks and Rec. BCP is home to over a dozen pocket parks, 16 miles of sidewalks, and bike lanes on every street. Catch and release fishing is allowed on Cullman Pond, Kid Pond, 17th Hole Pond, and Hawkins Pond. And don’t forget these three 2,000-pound bronze bulls created by lauded animal sculptor, Peter Woytuk. These bulls represent Bissell’s enthusiasm for the future – “Bullish on our families. Bullish on our work. Bullish on our country. Add value in all you do.” Leslie Knope approves.
(3) Playing softball. As of June 25, Team Boom Boom is in first place. Hate to Gragg wins for best team name. XPOwned wins for best smack team name. We’re rooting for ESPN.
(4) Golfing while getting schooled on golfing. Dana Rader Golf School is on Golf Magazine’s prestigious list of Top 25 Golf Schools in America and #1 in North Carolina. It’s for players of all ages and skill levels. Dana Rader is a golf goddess, named by Golf Digest as one of America’s 50 Greatest Teachers.
(5) Getting fit on company time. In addition to the extensive Parks and Rec amenities, there’s a 3/4 mile roundtrip Fit Trail, made from recycled concrete material topped with limestone. Also, last week, the YMCA broke ground for Sara’s Y- a new 16+ only, 24,000 sq. ft. YMCA in the middle of Ballantyne Corporate Park. So in 2016, the excuse “there’s no Y in my office park” officially expires.

(6) Saving money. BCP tenants receive discounts with hundreds of local retail, dining, and services establishments. Many of the restaurants offer 15% M-F, there are also Y discounts, car services discounts and more. The BCP card is available to tenants only but I want one, please. Ogle the complete list here.
(7) Playing soccer. As of June 24, there’s a 5 way tie for first. Kudos to Cobra Kai for the Karate Kid throwback. Rooting for Bend it Like Ballanytne to make a comeback so this phrase doesn’t turn into another Ballantyne insult.
(8) Golfing while probably drinking. Bissell invites BCP tenants to play the course at The Golf Club of Ballantyne on Wednesdays through September 2nd for only $25 after 4:45. This Par 71 course is public so we can all get on, but not for $25.

(9) Doing Good. They give and then they give some more. Here’s a small sample of recent efforts: 140,055 pounds of food to Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina, 913 coats collected for Steve’s Coats for Kids, 16,000 kids helped with Classroom Central donation drive.
