Your late-night, post-Montford-crawl pizza cravings have been answered. Carmella’s Pizza Grill, which took over the space that used to be Maverick Rock Taco, has officially opened.
It’s directly across from Angry Ale’s and just behind Duckworth’s at 1513 Montford Drive.
The menu is pretty standard, with salads, sandwiches and 14″ and 18″ pizzas. Agenda picks: Mozzarella sticks for a starter ($6.25), the Athenian pizza ($15.95-$18.95), the Patty Melt ($6.95) and the House Stromboli ($6.25).
Don’t feel like driving to get it? Local delivery will begin March 1.
Prices are exceptionally reasonable, especially their weekday lunch specials. From 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., get two slices of pizza and a drink for $4.75 or a slice, salad and drink for $5.75.
Specials rotate throughout the week:
Monday: $2.50 imports and Rolling Rock
Tuesday: $1 slices, $1 PBR, Miller High Life and Natural Light after 5 p.m. Dine-in only.
Wednesday: $0.50 wings, $1.50 Miller Lite, Coors Light and Bud Light after 5 p.m. Dine-in only.
Thursday: $2 Yuengling, Blue Moon and Rolling Rock
Friday: $2 Michelob Family
Saturday and Sunday: $20 14″ single-topping pizza and select buckets of beer
Carmella’s is also putting that weird, almost impossible to use parking lot to good use starting in April with parking lot parties. Eventually, they’d looking to shut down Montford Road and throw a Mardi Gras-style party with the other bars on the strip.
Can’t get enough pizza? Carmella’s is open seven days a week.
Monday through Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. and Sunday until midnight.
