For 15 months, the Twisted Eats food truck sat outside Wooden Robot Brewery. Not anymore.

The truck served up beer-infused menus Wednesday through Sunday for brewery goers.

But last week, inspectors with the city came and did some measurements and determined that the truck violated an ordinance that says food trucks need to be 400 feet from residential areas. The apartments down Summit Avenue are 330 feet away.

Goodbye, Twisted Eats.

Instead of folding, Twisted Eats is coming back with something even better — a serving counter inside Wooden Robot.

“It was shocking, but we decided to turn it into a positive,” said Rob Masone, the owner of Twisted Eats. He is formerly the executive chef at Heist and the owner of catering company Kre8 Xperiences. And turns out, he has his catering kitchen in walking distance from the brewery.

So what he and Wooden Robot CEO Josh Patton are going to do is construct a serving counter to the right of the bar in the current lounge area of the brewery.

People will be able to order there, the food will be prepared in the commercial kitchen and then run over to the brewery.

Here’s Rob showing me where the menu boards will be.

A limited menu will begin Thursday, with full-buildout taking a week or so.

Favorites like the Boss Hog Mac and Cheese Egg Rolls will still be on the menu, but the offerings will be expanded because they’ll now have access to a full kitchen.

Look for it all to be done by next Friday. Bravo, guys.
