Down the street about 200 yards from Heist Brewery, you’ll find a tiny old red building in a gravel parking lot.
It’s called Brooks’ Sandwich House “Home of the World’s Best Burger” and they’ve been cooking up burgers for over 43 years.
There’s a long communal table outside that’ll remind you of animals eating on the farm. It’s in stark contrast to much of Charlotte – in the best type of way.
Cash only. No seats.
Brooks’ is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The menu is simple.
Most importantly, the burger is damn good.
Like a sissy, I was scared to order it “All The Way” because I didn’t want to get my internet hands dirty.
The 60 year old man in line next to me said, “You gotta get it all the way, trust me.”
I trusted him. He was right – the homemade chili, mustard and onions were a perfect companion to the juicy, well-seasoned burger patty.
