Here’s a solution to the dogs in breweries debate: Bring the breweries to a dog bar.

I get it, dog owners. You love your dog, you love Charlotte beer and now with health inspectors cracking down on dogs in taprooms you feel like you’re forced to choose between the two.

Au contraire.

This weekend Lucky Dog Bark & Brew will host its inaugural Winter Beer Fest, a celebration of local brew featuring 10 Charlotte-area breweries.

And as any dog-loving Charlottean knows, Lucky Dog is a canine paradise where imbibing humans and friendly dogs peacefully coexist.

Although you (the human) can drink beer, wine and liquor any day of the week at Lucky Dog, this Saturday they’re featuring 10 local and regional breweries giving you the beer-centric brewery vibe you seek in the inclusive environment your dog deserves. Everybody wins.

Each brewery at Lucky Dog’s Winter Beer Fest will bring a favorite beer to feature so you can try the best all in one spot.

Here are the breweries that will be in attendance:

Sycamore Brewing
Legal Remedy Brewing
Deep River Brewing Company
Benford Brewing Co.
Birdsong Brewing Co.
Legion Brewing
Wooden Robot Brewery
Mystery Brewing Company
Sugar Creek Brewing
Lenny Boy Brewing Co.

Quell the size of your event scope expectations here. It’s not like you’re going to Oktoberfest. But you’re going to a nice niche event filled with dogs so what’s there to complain about?

Tickets are $20 for four hours of sampling with 8-ounce cups.

Buy your tickets in advance. Prices jump to $25 at the door. (21 and up, obviously.)

This event is at the Charlotte location (2220 Thrift Road) from 1 – 5 p.m. on Saturday, January 21.
