Since 2009, the Carroll family has been collecting Christmas inflatables to litter their yard with every Christmas. When they entered into a “friendly decoration war” with their neighbors, the family “crushed” them and have stocked up on new inflatables with their children each December 26th ever since.
“Our collection has grown every year,” Molly Carroll told the Agenda. “Last year, we were renovating and not living in our house, so we didn’t put any up, but kept collecting.”
All in all, the family has collected and decorated their yard with 61 inflatables, and while they’ve watched families take pictures in front of them for years, they had no idea the reach the yard had.
“When we meet people and they ask where we live, we tell them, and many respond, ‘You mean the house with all the inflatables? Your house is all over social media,'” Molly said.
In an effort to create something good from the phenomenon, the Carrolls have given the yard a hashtag – #christmascarrolls – and a promise to donate $1 to the Alzheimer’s Association (up to $1,000) in honor of family members with the disease.
“We’re just going to give them $1,000, honestly, but we wanted to do some good with the insanity,” Molly explained. “My mother died from early onset Alzheimer’s four years ago.”
To get in on the fun, head over to 2101 Wilhelmina Avenue (directly across from Midwood Park).

A family in our hood has an (and completely acknowledge) insane amount of ridiculous inflatables…but for a good cause! Every time you take a pic and tag #ChristmasCarrolls , they will donate $1 to the Alzheimer’s Association! Figured a day off was a good day for a little ride on the hog to snap my pic!
