Waterbean Coffee is about to start construction on a new coffeeshop on North Tryon Street.
The shop should be open in Janury, owner Tony Vo said.
He currently runs two Waterbean Coffee locations, both around Lake Norman (one is in Cornelius and the other in Huntersville).

Location is 616 North Tryon, across from Skyhouse and in the middle of a big parking lot.
That’s going to make it very easy to get in and out, Vo said. Eventually there are plans for ordering options where customers don’t even have to get out of their cars. That’s unheard of for a coffee shop Uptown.
But if you do get out of the car and want to linger, there will be both a front and back patio with stellar views of the skyline.
Owner Tony Vo is obsessed with quality and also cars.
Vo said he spends a lot of money 0n high-quality equipment and uses multiple coffee roasters. You can order a flight of coffee, or chose from a specialty drip, a pour over, a press, etc.
Vo also hosts monthly car enthusiast meetups at his current locations. Expect that to carry over to the Uptown location.

Vo said he also incorporates his Vietnamese background in both his coffee and food options.
There is a Vietnamese coffee option, and the food menu includes Banh Mi sandwiches.
Also look for wine and beer.
