Alton Lane, a custom men’s clothier, will open in South End’s Atherton Mill on October 27. The space is 1,291 square feet. This is Alton Lane’s 12th retail location (Atlanta, NYC, DC, San Fransisco, Chicago, Boston, etc).
Primary offerings are custom shirts and custom suits. Custom shirts range from $99 to $500 and custom suits range from $595 to $10,000.
Along with leather sofas and beverages of your choice (fully stocked bar), the store will have 3D body scanning technology. The 3D scanner takes 300 unique measurements in 30 seconds – then creates a digital avatar for each client. Orders are sent away and then delivered directly to a customer’s house in four to five weeks. The saved digital avatar allows you to continue to shop custom shirts and suits at altonlane.com. Here’s a two minute video on their shopping UX.
“Charlotte is such a dynamic city and we’re thrilled to join the already thriving fashion community down here,” said Colin Hunter, Alton Lane’s co-founder and CEO. “We’re really looking forward to sharing our first-class client experience, technology and craftsmanship with the men of the Queen City.” In a statement, these guys told us they’ve outfitted former presidents, professional athletes, Emmy award-winning actors and Oscar-nominated directors.
Alton Lane will take appointments Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
As a welcome to Charlotte, Alton Lane is also giving away 100 custom shirts (not sure any of the details here) to those that sign up for Charlotte updates.
