What do you do?

I manage the relationship between Sears/Craftsman and the World of Outlaws. Craftsman is the series title sponsor of the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series and the World of Outlaws Late Model Series. I ensure that the agreement is being fulfilled and oversee all at-track activation between the two series.

Commute (how and how long?)

20-30 minutes. Cornelius to Concord and route varies based on when I leave the house

What do you do during your commute?

Listen to the radio and drink morning coffee (Dunkin Donuts made at the house)

Do you listen to music while you work?

Yes, I always have iTunes on my computer playing in my office. Anything from Foo Fighters to Chris Stapleton to Frank Sinatra to Reel Big Fish.

What software are you a power user of?

PowerPoint and Excel. I wish I was more proficient in Photoshop and Illustrator

What’s your favorite spot for a business lunch? Your order?

Toast. BLT with chips and a Coke

Social media habits:

Wake up and look at Instagram and Facebook. May get a couple glances in during the day and then when I get home in the evening. I’m not very engaged in Twitter but will scroll occasionally for news or live info.

To-do list manager:

I use my email inbox as my primary task list as well as a pen and notebook.

What’s your one favorite thing about your job?

I grew up around dirt track racing and loved going to World of Outlaw races when I was a kid. It’s pretty cool that I get to work in something I enjoyed as a kid. My co-workers are awesome too!

Best time-saving shortcut or Charlotte life hack:

Using Google maps to get around traffic. It can save 10-15 minutes on my commute by using side roads around traffic.

Sleep routine:

Bed around 11 p.m. and up around 7 a.m. Sometimes our dog wakes us up in the middle of the night to go to outside.

Where do you go around Charlotte to get away from the office?

Walk the dog around Lake Norman or a sporting event or concert. There are a lot of great restaurants around Charlotte; Jakes Good Eats and Midwood Smokehouse are a couple of my favorites.

What did you eat for breakfast this morning?

Bagel w/ cream cheese and coffee

If you weren’t doing your current job, what would you be doing?

Wouldn’t it be fun to drive a racecar for a living?

Best job advice you’ve received:

A positive attitude, being open to change and the ability to listen to others ideas will set up any situation for success.

What’s one thing people don’t know about Charlotte that they should?

Why it’s the Queen City: It’s named in honor of Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, who was Queen Consort of the United Kingdom right before the city was founded.

Is there anything else that we didn’t ask that you’d like to tell our readers?

I met my beautiful wife at my last job where we worked together for around 8 years before we started dating.
