Charleston’s famous Oak Steakhouse will open its doors on the ground floor space of the SunTrust building on the corner of Sharon Road and Ashley Park lane in spring of 2017.
Steak and wine lovers are licking their lips.

I stalked the massive space like a creepy reporter and it looks gorgeous. Love the high ceilings. Judging from ownership’s track record, they’re going to design a very good looking restaurant (think opposite of Outback).
Oak Steakhouse is a classic American steakhouse with sister locations in Charleston (original), Atlanta and Nashville.
It’s owned and managed by The Indigo Road Restaurant Group – same guys behind O-Ku, the sushi spot that’s set to open this weekend.
When asked “Why SouthPark?” Steve Palmer, managing partner of The Indigo Road Restaurant Group, told the Agenda, “Having eaten in Charlotte for years I believe it’s the right neighborhood.”
Oak Steakhouse will be across the street from Starbucks (if they ever actually finish construction) and I have to give Pappas Properties credit – even though this area feels very strip mall-ish to me, they’ve somehow managed to land Dogwood Southern Table, Rusty Bucket, Corkbuzz, Whole Foods, Starbucks and now Oak Steakhouse.
Hat tip to the Pappas crew. They’ve created a true “park once and spend the evening/night here” destination in SouthPark.
Pappas, if you’re an Agenda reader (and I know you are), please yell at Starbucks to hurry up already. I feel like this future Starbucks has been a dirt field for way too long now.
If you’re a foodie or a steak lover, you’ve heard of Oak Steakhouse. Their Charleston location is in a beautiful old bank. “We look forward to bringing our flagship to Charlotte next year, ” said Steve. Me too, Steve, me too. No more Outback Specials for this guy.
Honestly, Oak will kill it here. Why? Its reputation is A+, the management team is a bunch of pros and SouthPark is hungry/growing. Bullish.
