7 corn mazes within an hour of Charlotte

Fall means it’s time to do cute seasonal things, like explore a corn maze.

They’re a perfect date idea or fun for the whole family. Check out these seven corn mazes within an hour of Charlotte.


1. Aw Shucks Farm

Location: 3718 Plyler Mill Road, Monroe, N.C.

Dates: Through Nov. 6

Tickets: $12 for adults; $10 for children; kids under age 3 get in free

  • Tickets include additional farm activities, including a wagon ride.

Hours: Friday 6-11pm; Saturday 11am-11pm; Sunday 1-6pm

Of note: No dogs allowed.

Bonus: Stop by The 13th Acre if spooky is more your style. It’s a walking haunted event through the woods. The corn maze is never haunted, per their website. Tickets start at $20.

  • Of note: The 13th Acre is not recommended for children under 8 years old or those who are six months pregnant.

2. Black’s Peaches

Head to Black’s Peaches for a festival for every season, focusing this month on the Fall Festival.

Location: 1800 Black Highway York, S.C. 

Dates: Sundays in October

Tickets: $8 plus tax. Your ticket includes other activities, like a hay maze and a hayride.

Hours: 1-5pm

Of note: No pets allowed.

Bonus: The pumpkin patch is open daily.


3. Cherry Place Farm

Location: 1922 Oakdale Road Rock Hill, S.C.

Dates: Saturdays and Sundays in October

Tickets: $10 for everyone over age 2. Your ticket includes the corn maze, hayrides, popcorn snack and barnyard games for kids.

Hours: Saturdays 10am-6pm; Sundays 1-6pm

Of note: No pets allowed.

Bonus: Buy a carving-sized pumpkin for $9.

4. Country Days Corn Maze

Here you get two corn mazes: the Big Ears Maze, which spans seven acres, and the Little Ears Maze, which is for kids age 10 and younger.

Location: 416 Joe Lee Helms Road, Indian Trail, N.C.

Dates: Through Nov. 5

Tickets: $10 for the Big Ears Maze an adult chaperone is required for people under age 14; $8 per person for groups of 20-plus; $10 Little Ears Maze — requires an adult chaperone; kids under age 3 get in free; a $26 all-inclusive ticket includes one-time entrance to each maze and unlimited farm activities.

  • If you’re only interested in farm activities, individual activity tickets are available at $1 each and $18 for unlimited farm activities.

Hours: Fridays 5-10pm; Saturday 10am-10pm; Sunday 2-8pm

  • You must enter the maze at least 45 minutes before closing.

Of note: No pets allowed.

Bonus: They offer bonfire reservations: $30 for two hours.


5. Hall Family Farm

This year’s maze theme is the Great Train Robbery for the large maze and the kids maze theme is Sir Topham Hat.

Location: 445 W. Rebound Rd Lancaster, S.C.

Dates: Through Oct. 30

Tickets: $10 plus tax; combo tickets for the corn maze and hayride are $12 for ages 3 and up; $3 plus tax for the kids maze; $6 plus tax for the kids maze and hayride; kids under age 3 get in free

Hours: Wednesday-Thursday 11am-6pm; Friday-Saturday 9am-6pm; Sunday 9am-6pm

Bonus: You can also rent a tent and a bonfire with five picnic tables, which costs $275 for four hours; just the tent and five picnic tables for four hours; or just the bonfire for four hours for $75.

6. Patterson Farm

Location: 10390 Caldwell Road Mount Ulla, N.C.

Dates: Through Nov. 5

Tickets$16; $14 per person for groups of at least 20 people; children under age 2 get in free

  • The last activity tickets are sold at 3:30pm.
  • Weekend and weekday afternoon admission includes the corn maze.
  • Of note: Pumpkins are not included in general admission.

Hours: Monday-Friday 12-5pm; Saturday and Sunday 9am-5pm


7. Rural Hill

Context: The Amazing Maize Maze sits on the historic site in Huntersville. It was the homestead site of Major John Davidson, who signed the Mecklenburg County Declaration of Independence in 1775.

  • Today it’s a nature preserve, cultural center, farm and wedding venue.

Location: 4431 Neck Road, Huntersville, N.C.

Dates: Through Nov. 5

Tickets: $9-$17

Hours: Friday through Sunday 10am-5pm. You must enter the maze by 5pm. Night mazes begin in October and will be available Friday and Saturday from 6-9pm. You must enter the maze by 9pm.

Of note: Pets are not allowed inside the maze.

Bonus: Stop by on Oct. 9 for the Fall Food Truck Rally from 11am-3pm. Grab a bite to eat, and then check out the corn maze. Parking is $5.
