Hipstik Founder and CEO Laura McGuire started her hunt for comfortable tights after she cut her pantyhose with scissors in the work bathroom because they were just that uncomfortable.
She never found that perfect pair of tights, though – the “largest size was too small,” the waist “always too high” and, lastly, who wants to deal with a control top at “10 a.m. on a Tuesday” – or any day, really?

So she decided to fix the problem herself and create the perfect pair of tights that women would actually want to wear.
The process to bring the line to life started in February of this year, when she crowdsourced to find what women really look for in a pair of tights. By July, she’d partnered with Wells Hosiery (the same manufacturer that brands like Ralph Lauren and Banana Republic work with) and had prototypes in her hands.
The end result is Hipstik, a low-rise pair of tights made from spandex that won’t squeeze or sag thanks to a hidden silicone strip in the lace waistband.

Sizing is based on height and body type (i.e. rectangle, hourglass and triangle) rather than dress size to ensure a perfect fit.
McGuire is calling the product, which comes in Magnetic Black, Heavenly Navy and Sumptuous Brown, the only pair of “TRUE low-rise, hip-happy tights” in the market.

They’ve even been named the Best New Lowrise Pantyhose by Beauty Style Watch.
