Mission Thrift, a nonprofit thrift store whose proceeds go toward finding a cure for leprosy, opened late last month in Pineville, bringing a new thrifting concept to the Charlotte area.

The store accepts gently used clothes and household items as donations and, similar to other thrift stores, will pick up larger items.

Located at 300 S. Polk St., the store is well-styled, including a separate room with children’s toys and a nook to browse books and read.

The selection is growing, but you can find a variety of items. I picked up a pair of Ralph Lauren wedges for $5.99, a baby onesie for 99 cents and infant dress for $2.99 on my recent visit. There’s even seasonal decor to celebrate the impending fall and Christmas seasons.
