The Evening Muse books a lot of shows and often has two separate bills in one night. That said, this week seems like an all-time busy week for them: Nine (!!!) concerts between Wednesday and Sunday night. Oh and one comedy show. The Double Door Inn documentary Kickstarter still needs your help, as their deadline approaches. Check out the preview on their fundraising page and make a donation.

Times listed are when the show is scheduled to start, not when the doors are opened. Unless listed otherwise noted, prices are before taxes and fees.

Agenda Picks

  • 9/10: Billy Strings, U.S. National Whitewater Center, 7 p.m., free. Billy Strings, though in his early 20’s, picks the guitar and sings like someone with decades of playing under his belt. The Michigan native and bluegrass virtuoso has moved to Nashville to focus on his solo career, which is good news for us in the South. He’s set to play in Charlotte a handful of times before the end of the year.

  • 9/10: Dinosaur Jr., Cloud Nothings; Neighborhood Theatre, 8 p.m., $25-$35 (tickets). Rock veterans Dinosaur Jr. disbanded in 1997 before reforming in 2005. Their fourth album since getting back together, Give a Glimpse of What Yer Not, was released in August. Though they’ve expanded their sound, the band has not strayed from their early roots: strong vocals, screaming guitar and a lot of distortion.
