When you hear the name, you can kind of understand what Blended Bartique is, but it’s not until you get inside that you get the full feel for this funky new NoDa business.
A facet in cities like San Francisco and New York, the idea of a bar and boutique hybrid hadn’t yet hit Charlotte, but guys, the wait is over. IT’S HERE.
I got the first look into Blended Bartique, run by Estelle and Steve Helfrich, and the idea and execution did not disappoint.
A happy blend of bohemian and classic (the couple has coined the term “clippy” for classic and hippie), the clothes are something any woman can enjoy. It’s a happy blend of contemporary and classic pieces and more down-to-earth, boho-inspired options. Prices are easy to swallow, so you’ll walk away with a bag-full, like the customer who was getting some afternoon shopping in alongside me.
Although the clothes are enough to bring me back to shop, it’s the bar that hits a home run.
It’s just beautiful, made of recycled train tracks, and the selection is paramount. Every beer is local and the specialty drinks give you just enough buzz to make you spend a little extra money. It wasn’t an initial intention, but the idea of a couple walking in and the woman getting to shop while the guy enjoys a beer is one that seems to have a lot of customers excited.
Shopping with your boyfriend or husband can be tough, but not at Blended Bartique.
Some really great aspects of this new NoDa spot include the local art and the event calendar that’s currently being put together.
There’s an artist in residence program that keeps the boutique’s art fresh and exciting and every piece hung on the walls is created by someone here in Charlotte. All of the walls have an eye-catching canvas, a shelf dedicated to a maker, or is covered in vintage vinyl’s, cassette tapes, or speakers.
The event calendar will boast intimate events that will gather the community and get them talking. Happy hours, art shows, and cocktail events can get you in the same room as likeminded neighbors. During the day are style hours and at night, it’s all about the cocktail hour.
If you’re ready to shop, head over Sunday! They’ll be officially open and ready to serve you a cold drink!
