Dog-friendly patios and breweries are nice and all (thanks for thinking of us!) but they lack a lot of the basic necessities that make for a truly stress-free social dog mingling experience.

Is there plenty of water? Do they have mops and buckets for cleaning up inevitable messes? Are there places to play? Is the perimeter secured? Can my dog roam off leash? Do other people here even like dogs? In most cases, the answer to all those questions is no. And understandably so. Restaurants and bars specialize in catering to humans, not dogs. And that’s OK.

That’s why Lucky Dog Bark & Brew is a dog owner’s dream come true. It’s designed with you and your dog in mind.

Lucky Dog is a full-service boarding facility, daycare, massive 25,000-square-foot indoor/outdoor dog park and a bar for humans all rolled into one.

They’ve got a spacious outdoor fenced patio where dogs are free to run wild.

And it’s delightful. If you don’t like dogs, this definitely isn’t your spot. But if you’re a dog owner, it’s a wonderland.

Not my dog, actually. She just jumped in my lap.

There’s even a large garage door that leads to the indoor play area with air conditioning for dogs who like to avoid the heat.

My dog Charlie spent most of his time in there because he is very dramatic about summer.

If you’re looking for more than just an afternoon hangout, Lucky Dog can hook you up with additional dog care services.

They offer day care ($25/day), overnight boarding ($42/24 hours) and baths ($20 – $30 depending on weight).

And of course for the humans, there’s a full bar with beer, wine and liquor.

Monday is $2.50 domestics, Tuesday is $15 Beer Bath night (you get a beer and your dog gets a bath), Wednesday is 1/2 off bottles of wine, Thursday is $5 Pinnacle vodka and Friday is $3.50 pints. They’ve got 20 taps featuring local breweries.

Health code regulations mean Lucky Dog can’t serve food (which is probably for the best) but you can order your own to be delivered. They also frequently host food trucks.

The best part about Lucky Dog is that your dog gets to play and you get to be surrounded by fellow dog enthusiasts.

No one cringes in horror when someone’s dog poops on the patio. Just roll out the mop bucket and move on with life. Cheers.
