The JFG Coffee sign was listed for sale on Craiglist on Thursday, May 26.

If you’ve got a spare $10,000 sitting around, a piece of Charlotte history could be yours.

The sign, which was originally located on a billboard near Bank of America stadium for nearly 40 years, first came down back in 2009.

City Council voted in February 2011 to resurrect, refurbish and relocate the historic sign to a new location atop VBGB at the Music Factory where it has stood as an iconic landmark alongside I-277 ever since.

So is the sign actually for sale or is this some kind of PR stunt?

I had my doubts but a rep from the Music Factory confirms that the sign is in fact for sale, specifically stating, “It is for sale and it’s not a joke.”
