I spend an unreasonable amount of time on my commute sitting at the light at Morehead and McDowell.
Since March, the city has had the right-hand lane shut down on eastbound Morehead as part of an $11.6 million storm drain improvement project that is supposed to reduce flooding around the Euclid Avenue area of Dilworth.
It’s also down to one lane on McDowell in each direction at Morehead. Even though it’s been more than a month, drivers still haven’t figured this out and try to cut in at the last second every morning.
The project is scheduled to finish May 18.
I see a lot of questions about this — and the end is in sight. This date is the latest information given from the Charlotte Department of Transportation. Of course, delays are possible.
I won’t be sad to say goodbye to these cones.
