O-Ku is coming to the Atherton Mill and we all need to get really excited. O-Ku is a sushi restaurant out of Charleston (they’ve already expanded to Atlanta) and is one of the highest rated and coolest restaurants in Charleston (and that is saying a lot).

O-Ku is part of The Indigo Road hospitality group and this is their first foray into the Charlotte market. For those familiar with Charleston, others in the group include Indaco, The Cocktail Club, Oak Steakhouse and a few other staples of the city.
This is an incredibly exciting opportunity and I hope it opens the flood gates for other Charleston mainstays to make their mark on Charlotte (note: I know we have a ton of talent here too, there is room for everyone!).

Back to O-Ku — the menu looks fantastic and I will put out more details as they come along. I was unable to confirm this, but I think they will be taking over the old Ferguson showroom space in the mill (again, DO NOT KNOW THIS FOR SURE).

Access to the Rail Trail and being a part of the primary stroll district and pedestrian friendly retail in South End is going to be huge for them and I can’t wait to see what they do with this space.
