My mom used to say that she loved the way my sister and I started spending less and less time inside the nicer the weather became.

And then I grew up and realized this week that I don’t spend nearly enough time outside as I should, even when it becomes nicer.

I’m trying to change that, and if you have the ability to work remotely, you should too, especially with how nice it’s been this week. Over 70 degrees two days? Colder inside the office than out?

Get outside.

(But do it with a full computer battery or the knowledge that you won’t be there the whole day. That’s the nice thing about being outside — there are no outlets, which means there are no excuses to be distracted from how nice it feels.)

5. CPCC

Quick tip: To get a guest authorization code to use the WiFi, you’ll need to connect with CPCCGuest, open your browser and enter your phone number. It’ll send you a one-time authorization code for you to enter into the browser. A little long-winded, but you’ll be good to go for that session.

4. South County Regional Library

Quick tip: Come here if you want the utmost privacy. The outside area is small and cozy, and feels worlds away from Rea Road.

1. Romare Bearden Park

Quick tip: If you don’t want to lounge in the grass, get there either before or after lunchtime to avoid the rush and get a café table under the trees.
