Do you and your significant other have a custom hashtag? Are you always invited to parties as a pair? Do people hate follow you because they can’t look away from relationship perfection?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, you could be perfect for a new show casting in Charlotte for the next 2-3 weeks. “How We Became Us” is looking for a Queen City power couple between the ages of 28 and 45 to star in their own unscripted romantic comedy to air on a major cable network that may or may not share its name with a popular Italian restaurant at Northlake Mall.
Los Angeles based Doron Ofir Casting is leading the search for the perfect Charlotte couple. How perfect are we talking? The casting website is perfectcouplescasting.com, so pretty darn perfect.
Doron Ofir is the company behind magical casting decisions for reality hits like “Jersey Shore,” “Party Down South,” and “Rich Kids of Beverly Hills.” The Axios Charlotte doesn’t want to stand between you and a future stint on “Dancing with the Stars” or “Celebrity Rehab,” so we talked to casting producer Kimberly Giebel to get insider details on standing out in the application process.
What’s the best way to apply?
The only way to apply is on perfectcouplescasting.com.
What can someone do to stand out in the application?
Be as detailed as possible in your answers. We’re looking for the perfect couple, so the more in love and fun you seem, the better.
There’s an area for references. What makes a good reference?
Someone who is going to give us a lot of detail. Your best friend, your mom, even an ex-boyfriend/girlfriend.
What makes the perfect couple in your opinion?
We want a couple made up of people who are light-hearted and fun, with a great sense of humor. This show is basically #relationshipgoals, so we don’t want the Netflix and chill duo.
We’re looking for people with high-powered careers, a busy social life and great chemistry. We’re also looking for couples hitting milestones. Moving in together, getting engaged, having a baby.
Anything else that could make a couple stand out?
A great group of friends.
If you follow the expert advice above, expect a call from Kimberly or one of her co-workers to see how you interview. Have some coffee or even a cocktail ahead of time because duds won’t make it to another round.
I’d apply for this, but I doubt anyone wants to watch my boyfriend and me talk in weird voices to my dog, binge watch Arrested Development and never leave the house. Good luck to those of you in more productive couplings!
