After five years, Flavors Café will be closing up its location inside the main lobby of the Harris YMCA on Quail Hollow Road to focus on other business opportunities. In its place, a new Just Fresh location will open.
Flavors Café was run by Tim Wickey, who previously had more than a decade of experience working with the PGA Tour. The location in the Y served breakfast, salads, sandwiches and soups and had an extensive grab-and-go menu. Flavors also did an extensive catering business, providing food for companies like Premier Inc. at corporate functions.
“The last five years have proven that a chef’s dream can come true,” Wickey told Y members.
The restaurant going in its place should be pretty familiar. This will be the eighth Just Fresh location. The Charlotte-based restaurant chain’s primary locations are uptown (Ally Center lobby, Overstreet Mall and Two Wells Fargo), but they also have locations in Dilworth and Ballantyne.
Just Fresh has been growing since being bought by Chanticleer Holdings in 2013. The company also runs American Burger Co. but got its start running international Hooters operations.
They’ll take over operations of the cafe space in the Harris Y on February 9. Its menu is the same type of food, with salads, sandwiches and wraps.
For breakfast goers, the coffee situation will likely be different. Flavors brewed Enderly Coffee. Just Fresh does organic Pura Vida coffee in its locations.
Note: You can access the restaurant even if you’re not a Y member.
