Founded in 2010 by Jim Noble, the mission is to help those in need in our community: 100% of profits from sales go to feed the poor in the Charlotte region.

The restaurant has a feeling of home with a splash of modern décor. The menu is described as “home cooking.” I wish I could cook at home like that.

On the list of items you must-try:

The mac ‘n cheese. It’s baked, golden and cheesy. Great flavor and hard to stop eating, some of the best restaurant mac ‘n cheese I’ve had.

Sweet Potato Fritters. This one was a win across the table of all six of us. Sweet potatoes made into bite size cakes, fried and served with local honey.

Old State Shrimp and Grits. My boyfriend ordered these, but I ended up helping him eat them because they were that good. The flavor was incredible and served a good healthy portion. The next time I go back, I’m ordering these.

The food was incredible. The service was spot on. And you’re helping out a good cause. Win, win, win.
