Fund Accountant

Overview:
As a Real Estate Fund Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in our financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and transparency in our real estate fund accounting. You’ll have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of assets and contribute to our continued growth and success.
Responsibilities:
• Financial Reports: You create reports that show how well our investments are doing, like a financial report card. This includes things like how much money we have, how much we’re making, and where our money is going
• Periodic Reports: You put together regular updates and reports, kind of like progress reports, to help us understand how our investments are performing over time
• Investor Accounts: You keep track of the money our investors put into our investments and the money they get back. You also calculate how much profit they should get based on our agreements with them
• Legal Documents: You check legal papers to make sure all the money and fees are being handled correctly, and you make sure we’re billing people the right way
• Cash Flow: You predict when we’ll need to spend or receive money in the future and tell the bosses so they can plan ahead. You also make sure money moves between our investments correctly and on time
• Taxes and Audits: You help with the paperwork and checks that happen at the end of the year to make sure everything is in order
• Accounting Rules: You keep up with the rules and laws about how we handle money for our investments
• Asset Values: You help figure out how much our investments are worth every few months
• Cost Tracking: You keep records of how much it costs to buy or develop new properties
• Third-Party Help: You help manage and oversee other companies that assist us in handling our funds
Experience our ideal candidate has:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
• 1-3 years of experience of relevant accounting or finance experience
• Experience in fund accounting or investment management preferred
Skills you must possess to be successful in this role:
• Proficiency in financial software and tools, especially Microsoft Excel
• Experience in Yardi Investment Management software is a huge plus
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Knowledge of financial instruments and regulatory compliance
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Time management abilities and adaptability to changing conditions
