Client Accounting Supervisor

AFM’s team of professionals is focused on meeting client needs by providing a complete range of forestry services including land and wildlife management, land sale and acquisition services, forest inventory and design, growth and yield modeling, cash flow projections, environmental services, appraisal, forest resource data management and harvest scheduling.
Principal duties and responsibilities:
The Client Accounting Supervisor oversees and coordinates the daily operations within the client accounting department to include, but not limited to:
• Oversee daily transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and timber escrow
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year end close to include 1099 review
• Manages daily activities and monitors internal and external inquiries to ensure accurate and timely professional responses
• Assists in reconciling and reviewing client accounts and researching issues as needed
• Reviews, analyzes, modifies, and implements efficient and effective client accounting processes and procedures
• Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships
• Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
Additional requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and 5+ years of professional accounting experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
• Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
• Ability to manage employees, while multi-tasking projects
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with FPA, LIMS, InFocus, Yardi, and timber/delivered sales accounting is a plus but not required
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus but not required
