Associate Producer, Business Entertainment
Overview:
Are you someone who thrives in a dynamic and fast paced environment? Hornets Sports & Entertainment (HSE) is looking for a Producer to join our team!
You will develop and build compelling Hornets-related content for use across all the team’s digital platforms, social media channels and in-arena scoreboards. Primarily focused on but not limited to business entertainment, partnerships, game presentation, marketing, community relations and other assigned content for all HSE properties (Charlotte Hornets, Spectrum Center, Hornets Venom GT & Greensboro Swarm). You will work across various departments within HSE to assist in company-wide initiatives. You will report to the Director of Production.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
• Assist with the development and implementation of the HSEs content strategy within the Digital Media department season over season for business entertainment projects
• Assist and development of video concepts, creative direction, and final execution
• Work in conjunction with HSE’s corporate partnership department to develop branded partner content
• Develop video content strategy roadmap for HSE marketing, partnerships and Hornets game presentation alongside the Director of Production
• Oversee the video production of the team’s deliverables for business entertainment-based projects
• Implement and guide video team direction for creative and innovative video content
• Adapt and meet strict production calendar deadlines
• Alongside social and business intelligence departments, analyze post event surveys to gauge fan sentiment
• Present concepts with storyboards, theme boards, references and/or any other production design sample work
• Conduct research and generate ideas for new, relevant and timely industry-related video content that drives business value
• Handle all elements for in-house video production by using and teaching effective camera work, lighting, and audio techniques to produce high quality video content
• Maintain Spectrum Center, Charlotte Hornets, and other HSE brand voices and standards across all video content for game presentation
• Help to develop video budget needs within specified areas for production needs
• Assist with maintenance and service of any department video production programs, software, and equipment as needed
• Coordinate video collection to ensure all media is archived appropriately and can be readily obtained
• Maintain knowledge of competitive landscape and game presentation innovations
• Communicate project and issue status effectively, consistently, and proactively
• Manage and coordinate the needs of the business entertainment video team to resolve blockers
• Implement continuous improvement of the video content production process
• Help in the execution of the in-game show for all Hornets games at Spectrum Center
• Effectively collaborate across multiple departments within the company
• Other duties assigned
Required Skills, Experience, and Abilities
To perform the job successfully, you should demonstrate the following:
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Broadcasting or related field
• Minimum of 5 years production experience for a team, brand or content production unit
• Ability to develop various forms of video content across different platforms
• Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Cloud suite of programs
• Experience using Mac OS
• Firm background in skills related to video and audio editing, graphic design and camera operation
• Presents self in professional manner and have ability to interact and establish relationships with all levels of organization and outside contacts
• Able to multi-task under time constraints, meet deadlines and work within a fast-paced industry/environment
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to handle your own individual projects
• Excellent communications skills – both written and verbal
• A self-starter who is inventive and is a great teammate
• Flexibility to work necessary hours including evenings, weekends and holidays for games and events, as needed, and travel is required
• Possibility of lifting and handling of heavy video equipment required (25-60 pounds)
