A custom sneaker brand will open this weekend in South End.
What’s happening: The Shoedio opens Saturday, Aug. 19 at 10am, followed by a ribbon cutting at 12pm. It’s one of two new tenants at The Shops at The Winston, along with Bulldog Taproom/Social, as Axios’ Katie Peralta Soloff previously reported.
Why it matters: It’s the first brick-and-mortar space for the custom shoe brand.
Details: The Shoedio’s 1,100-square-foot shop will overlook Wilmore Centennial Park and offer DIY workshops and fully customizable sneakers.
- The Shops at The Winston are located at 222 West Blvd. The Shoedio is in unit 2103.
Bonus: You’ll be entered to win a custom pair of Air Force 1 sneakers if you stop by the shop for the grand opening Saturday.
Zoom out: The Shoedio has created custom shoes for professional athletes, like former Charlotte Hornets player Jeremy Lamb and Carolina Panthers players.
What they’re saying: “We can’t wait to bring our love of sneakers to the Shops at The Winston and to provide a space for our customers to peruse and build their custom shoes,” Michael Griffin, owner of The Shoedio owner, said in a statement.
What’s next: Bulldog Taproom/Social plans to open in September.
