It’s taken five days to transform Bank of America Stadium into a throne fit for a queen.

Driving the news: On Wednesday night, Beyoncé will perform for the first time in Charlotte in a decade. The show is part of her Renaissance World Tour, and it’s her only stop in the Carolinas.

Why it matters: Beyoncé is making history in Charlotte. She’ll be the first female act to ever headline at Bank of America Stadium in the facility’s nearly 30-year history.

By the numbers: Beyoncé’s show includes 89 trucks and 18 crew buses.

• More than 2,600 employees will work the concert, Caroline Wright, TSE chief venues officer, tells Axios.
• Tepper Sports and Entertainment puts down 100,000 square feet of flooring for every concert. Then, the artist comes in and sets up their stage, Wright says.
• While it takes around five days to set up for a concert, it takes 24 hours to tear it down. Keep in mind Bank of America Stadium is open-air, meaning it’s impacted by the weather.
• Bank of America Stadium holds more than 74,000 people for sporting events, but the capacity for the show will be roughly 50,000 (this varies based on the artist’s setup). Seats behind the stage aren’t sold, but people do have access to the floor, which isn’t sold for games.

Between the lines: Tours are typically booked more than a year in advance and can impact sports scheduling. Charlotte FC, for instance, had to play a Leagues Cup match on the road this week as the stadium was being set up for the concert.

The bottom line: Under David Tepper, who bought the Panthers in 2018, Bank of America Stadium is hosting far more non-football events — from soccer to concerts — than it did under original owner Jerry Richardson.

• “I want to utilize the stadium for the community,” Tepper said in his introductory press conference in summer 2018.

Here’s what else you need to know about Beyoncé’s visit to Charlotte:

• The show starts at 8pm — an hour later than originally scheduled. There won’t be an opening act.
• Bank of America Stadium and the NFL have a clear bag policy — see-through or vinyl bags can be no larger than 12″ x 6″ x 12″.
• Other small purses, bags or clutches can be no larger than 4.5″ x 6.5″.
• You’re not allowed to bring outside food, alcohol, selfie sticks, strollers or umbrellas inside. You can bring up to two sealed 16.9-oz bottles of water.
• Signs can be no larger than 24″ x 24″ and cannot include offensive/obscene language. Per Bank of America Stadium, “no commercial messages, logos or political endorsements.”
