Outfitter Operations Manager
Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation (Catawba Riverkeeper) was founded in 1997 as the 21st waterkeeper organization in the US. Now, proudly part of an international movement that boasts over 400 local organizations, we preserve and protect the waters of the Catawba-Wateree River Basin for generations to come. Our 5,000 square mile river basin includes over 8,900 miles of waterways.
Overview:
The Outfitter Operations Manager is responsible for the overall operations and guest experience at two dynamic Catawba Riverkeeper locations – Confluence and The Boathouse, as well as the organization’s online store. The Outfitter Manager will actively take part in assisting with the creation, maintenance, and day to day operations of each location’s strategy and execution through operational standards and day-to-day administration. By doing so, ensuring quality guest experiences increase revenue and awareness about Catawba Riverkeeper and our work. An ideal candidate will have experience in an outfitter store environment and/or is passionate about outdoor recreation. They will also be a highly self-motivated, sales minded creative multi-tasker with the ability to lead, plan, and execute working teams and plans.
Accountability: The Outfitter Operations Manager reports to the Operations Director

Responsibilities
• Responsible for the overall taproom, retail, and recreation operation for Confluence and The Boathouse
• Assists with the development, maintenance, and execution of operational strategies for each location, increasing revenues and enhancing guest engagement
• Leads and fosters a culture of offering a welcoming, genuine and high-quality experience for all guests
• Recruits, hires, and trains all staff at each location
• Provides daily supervision and oversight to staff including scheduling, coaching, and performance evaluations
• Oversees and maintains overall space layout, including its organization, cleaning, and maintenance
• Purchases retail merchandise, beer, wine, and liquor for resale, as well as supplies
• Maintains inventory and safekeeping of retail, food and beverage, and supplies
• Oversees and maintains online merchandise inventory, sales, and shipping
• Maintains state alcohol permits and records in accordance with the law
• Oversees and maintains the point-of-sale software application, including creating and updating items, receiving inventory, and reporting
• Provides regular reporting of revenues, expenses, and trends
• Provides support to Riverkeeper programs and events, including private rentals in these spaces with assistance from Operations and Marketing staff
• Oversees external relationships, including vendors, consignment vendors, and other operating partnerships overseen by Operations and Marketing staff
• Leads outfitter-hosted promotions, programs, and off-site events
• In coordination with Riverkeeper Operations staff, oversees the recreation and education programs conducted at each location
• Exemplifies the Riverkeeper mission statement, supporting staff, departments and leadership in pursuing and achieving goals
• Performs any other duties needed to help drive to our vision, fulfill our mission, and abide by our values
Requirements:
• Must be 21 years of age with valid driver’s license
• Must be able to lift 60 pounds and move large kegs with assistance
• Must carry or be able to obtain Safe Server Certificate
• Bar or outfitter store management experience preferred
• Experience with Square, Untappd, Microsoft Suite, and Canva is highly preferred
• Active CPR/First Aid Certification or willing to be trained by Catawba Riverkeeper
• Attend one Catawba Riverkeeper Ambassador Training annually
• Strong customer service skills – Comfortable speaking to a wide range of people and customizing communication accordingly
• Must be willing to work nights, weekends and some holidays as locations are currently open on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays
