Overview:
The Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in supporting and enhancing the daily operations of our high-end furniture and home decor retail store. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual with expertise in human resources and payroll. As the Assistant Manager, you will work closely with the Store Manager to ensure efficient store functioning, exceptional customer service, and a positive employee experience.

Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the store manager to oversee all aspects of store operations, including sales, customer service, and employee management, fostering a cohesive and productive team environment
• Support human resource functions, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management, to attract, develop, and retain top talent aligned with the company’s values and goals
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll in compliance with company policies and legal requirements while maintaining confidentiality and data accuracy
• Work closely with the store manager to develop and implement effective sales strategies and promotional activities, leveraging market trends and customer preferences to drive revenue growth
• Monitor inventory levels, collaborating with the warehouse team to maintain optimal stock levels, minimize out-of-stock situations, and ensure efficient inventory management
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations, promoting a safe and inclusive work environment for employees and customers
• Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally, striving to exceed customer expectations and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction
• Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to the sales staff, fostering their professional development and product knowledge to deliver exceptional service

Qualifications:
• An Associates’s or Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, or a related field, demonstrating a strong educational background, is preferred
• Proven experience in a retail assistant management role, preferably within the furniture or high-end home decor industry, showcasing your ability to drive operational excellence and customer-centric strategies
• Sound knowledge of human resource practices, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations, to cultivate a high-performing and engaged team
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, enabling you to handle multiple priorities and ensure smooth store operations
• Outstanding interpersonal and leadership abilities, promoting effective communication, teamwork, and employee development
• Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions, even in high-pressure situations, while maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction and business objectives
• Familiarity with inventory management systems and their impact on supply chain operations, enabling efficient stock control and proactive inventory replenishment
