Overview:
Do you want to inspire, lead authentically, and positively impact the lives of students? Woodlawn School is seeking an experienced Director of Enrollment Management for the 2023-2024 school year. The ideal candidate has experience working at the decision-making level in admissions in an independent school, with a record of successful communication, marketing, recruitment, and enrollment results utilizing strong leadership, teamwork, management, and organizational skills.

Job summary:
The Director of Enrollment Management is a member of the administrative team and reports directly to the Head of School. They manage all aspects of recruitment, admission, re-enrollment, and consult in the financial aid process. The Director of Enrollment Management works closely with the Head of School and leadership team to plan and implement successful programming and marketing intended to attract a diverse group of students to Woodlawn School.

Responsibilities:
• Manage and conduct new student recruitment, admission, and enrollment, as well as the re-enrollment process for current students
• Support the continued communal, academic, and co-curricular success of the School’s student body through recruitment and enrollment practices informed by the School’s mission and strategic priorities
• Supervise and coordinate the evaluation of all candidates. This includes scheduling of interviews, testing and observations, the organization of all selection committees, and management and evaluation of candidate records
• Maintain good communication with academic and co-curricular leaders to ensure that the School enrolls students most able to contribute to and benefit from the School’s offerings
• In collaboration with the Head of School and the leadership team, design and execute annual admission goals and strategies to reach enrollment and tuition revenue targets
• Innovate and develop new strategies to increase the overall size and mission-alignment of the applicant pool, recognizing Woodlawn School’s unique mission and market position, and identifying methods of reaching families who may not otherwise consider independent schools as an option.
• Collaborate on communications and marketing materials with the Director of Communications pertaining to prospective family recruitment, including the effective use of social media and other online tools, production of all admission print and inventory materials, and maintenance of the Admission and + Tuition sections of the School’s website. Adhere to the School’s core messaging and value propositions
• Administer the tuition assistance program. Oversee and coordinate third-party financial analysis and budgeting, and provide high-touch, supportive, and understanding communications with tuition assistance applicants, especially families navigating the process for the first time
• Coordinate Woodlawn School’s presence at and attend top-priority school fairs and a wide array of local neighborhood community events
• Maintain relationships through professional connections, Woodlawn School family connections, and all other available avenues at top-priority public and charter schools
• Create, coordinate, and implement all major admission and enrollment events and programming, ensuring that all events reflect the vision of Woodlawn School’s curricular and co-curricular offerings, including: Open houses, school tours, shadow days and newly enrolled families events
• In coordination with the Director of Development and Community Engagement, lead the Woodlawn School Student & Parent Ambassador Teams, developing student and parent volunteers who can attend school fairs, and expertly speak to the School’s history, ethos, mission, and curricular and co-curricular programming
•  Cultivate the investment of all Woodlawn School constituent groups in the recruitment and admission process, encouraging all departments and offices on campus to build relationships with the Admission Office and prospective families, and ensuring that current families, students, and Woodlawn employees—across academics, student life, athletics, the arts, and advancement—are involved in key programming and conversations
• Work closely with the Head of School, Director of Development and Community Engagement, and Director of Communications on issues concerning alumni relations and other advancement initiatives
• Maintain statistical and trend data related to admission and enrollment. Present statistical and trend information to the Head of School Board of Trustees. Understand and inform the school leadership about research and trends in admission, ensuring that the School is able to anticipate and address challenges as well as capitalize on opportunities
• Direct the re-enrollment process for the school. This includes working with the Director of Finance in the collection of all School contracts
• Oversee admission information management software and the online application process (Woodlawn School currently uses Blackbaud)
• Manage the waitlist and late applications
• Lead and execute all aspects of tuition management; educate all newly enrolling and re-enrolling families about tuition payment and tuition insurance
• Other duties as assigned by the Head of School

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or greater
• Highly competent with word processors, spreadsheets, and slide decks
•  Experience and confidence working in and with database management systems and platforms; direct experience with Blackbaud a plus
• Experienced records of recruitment and management
• Computer knowledge and competency
• Familiarity with and an understanding of data collection and analysis
