The Charlotte Independence is looking for a full-time Operations Director, a position that will require flexible hours, including nights and weekends. The Operations Director will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including gameday operations, facility management and player relations.

Starting salary: $35,000.

Primary Responsibilities:

Gameday Operations

  • Oversee all gameday operations, including but not limited to security, medical personnel, pre- and postgame activities, halftime activities, law enforcement and fire department requirements
  • Recruit, coordinate and supervise operations staff for all home games
  • Secure infrastructure needed for hosting games as well as for day-to-day training sessions (equipment, contracts, porta-jons, etc.)
  • Secure all food and beverage vendors, as well as required liquor permits
  • Work with broadcast production team to ensure a quality livestream
  • Write and execute gameday PA scripts
  • Assist with sponsorship fulfillment during home games
  • Ensure all USL requirements are met
  • Compile Game Summary Analytics reports following each event

Ramblewood Stadium Management

  • Work with Ramblewood Soccer Complex to ensure facility is fully prepared to host professional soccer games
  • Oversee grounds crews to ensure proper conditions of Ramblewood Stadium and team training fields
    Implement a security plan to ensure the stadium remains in good condition

Opponent Liaison

  • Communicate home game information to opponents
  • Coordinate arrival and care of visiting team and referees
  • Collect away game information from opponents


  • Handle operations communication with the USL
  • Oversee administrative details and communication with players
  • Assist with coordination of player appearances
  • Serve as a team liaison for supporters groups

Housing Coordinator

  • Work with management team to find inexpensive housing that meets the team’s quality and location expectations
  • Coordinate housing details for players and coaches
  • Monitor paperwork and payments for housing agreements

Other duties as assigned


  • At least 18 years of age
  • Have adequate transportation to practices, events and games
  • Available to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, throughout the year
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and make quick decisions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift at least 25 pounds, perform some manual labor, walk/stand for long periods of time and be outside in varying weather conditions
