Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating recent petty crimes in north Charlotte, including a string of graffiti in NoDa.

Petty Thieves Brewing Co. near Optimist Park is bouncing back from a break-in Tuesday night. Owner Ted Rosenau says some stole cash from their drawer.

“Our head brewer reported for work in the morning and just saw the front door busted open,” Rosenau tells Axios.

  • As of Thursday, no arrests have been made, CMPD says.
  • The brewery has replaced the door and moved their cameras; it appeared the vandals may’ve known where the cameras pointed, according to an Instagram post by the brewery.
  • The brewery is operating at normal business hours.

Meanwhile, CMPD is looking into graffiti that appeared Wednesday morning on the front doors and windows of North Davidson businesses and a parked car. Those vandalized included Ever Andalo, Growlers Pourhouse and Sprinkle.

Flashback: In May, someone broke into The Artisan’s Palate in NoDa and stole liquor bottles. The incident occurred the night before a drag brunch.

  • The Petty Thieves break-in doesn’t seem connected to any other incident, according to CMPD.
