The role:
At The Grove, the General Manager is responsible for all aspects of the business by ensuring operational efficiency, member/guest experience, staff retention and optimal profit is met. Including day-to-day staff management, a General Manager is also an ambassador for the Grove brand and fully embraces our purpose supporting young families as the number one priority. As General Manager, you are an influential leader and strategic business partner that tells our story, delivers excellent service, creates culture, maximizes profits, supports operations, and strives for member / guest satisfaction. The General Manager goes above and beyond to ensure members are left with a positive experience, naturally a role model and leader for the team.

A successful General Manager will collaboratively work with Membership Liaison, and Director of Programming to develop strategic business objectives and goals that result in optimizing the business’s performance and profitability.

Day-to-day responsibilities:
• Ensures the highest standards for food, beverage, programming and all other club amenities
• Implement and monitor the budget, quality of products and services, and ensure maximum member and guest satisfaction
• Opens and/or closes The Grove (or competently delegates such); according to opening or closing checklist
• Responsible for assessing the business on a weekly/daily basis and providing reports on the economic and operational state of the business that trigger the development of action plans to support operational improvements and promote exceptional experience(s) for member, guest, staff
• Able to perform all POS functions, comps, voids and transfers, back of house administration (employee creation, menu management, etc.)
• Oversees ordering, delivery, storage, overall inventory for cafe operations
• Ensure that daily and standard menu offerings are accurate
• Ability to create all F&B offerings; coffee, food items, specialty items etc.
• Work with Membership Liaison to ensure new members are welcomed and onboarded consistently
• Assure that the club is operated in accordance with all applicable local, state and federal laws
• Oversees the care and maintenance of all the club’s physical assets, facilities, storage and overall organization
• Responsible for all Grove equipment, software, furnishings, light fixtures operating efficiently
• Conduct DOH walk-throughs when on duty to ensure DOH compliance; Address all DOH violations immediately
• Promotes and practices safe work habits, identifies and resolves potential safety hazards; Documents accidents, conducts initial investigation and determination of root cause of safety incidents in the interest of maintaining a safe work environment
• Ensures that all team members are educated on our products and services.

Staffing:
• Contribute to the development of operating policies and procedures for all employees
• Interview all new and prospective hires and positively provide support to the team in terms of growth, development and success planning
• Prepares and communicates staff schedules, manages time off requests, sick days, prepared to problem-solve as needed
• Supervises Director of Programming, Grove Club Counselors, Grove Club Cleaning Guru, Interns and Hourly Staff
• Plans, executes and communicates all promotions and information effectively and efficiently

Strategy:
• Work with the Chief Visionary Officer (CVO) on the development of the club’s quarterly and annual initiatives and plans
• Coordinates the marketing and membership relations programs to promote the club’s services and facilities to potential and present members
• Monitor, assess, report and develop action items to support service trends, guest/ member /staff surveys

Finance:
• Accountable for the profitability of the cafe by proactively managing offerings and controlling cost of goods
• Maintains and utilizes daily, weekly, quarterly and annual financial reporting tools as directed by the CVO
• Ensures proper team member coverage per the needs of business while maintaining target labor costs
• Oversees payroll processing weekly; provides final review and approval to all payroll registers for The Grove

Physical requirements:
• Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours
• Must be able to move, pull, carry, or lift at least 40 pounds
• Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required

Suggested experience:
• At least 5 years managing high-volume Food and Beverage (F&B) or multi-unit operations
• Previous experience managing F&B operations that focus on service and providing top quality experiences through food and drink
• Creative and analytical thinker who encompasses strong business aptitude is driven by results and guest satisfaction. Naturally hospitable
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships (internal/external) as well as highly organized, efficient and detail-oriented
• Understand, maintain, and enforce local and government-regulated food safety, risk prevention, fire prevention and emergency procedures to ensure the safety of all staff and guests

Note:
• The GM will report directly to the CVO
• Full Time; 50 – 60 Hours a week
• Compensation Range; $70 – $75K + performance-based annual bonus
