Supply Planning Analyst
Job summary:
The supply planning analyst plays a key role in supporting the inventory planning team. They will work closely with planners to translate demand forecasts into supply requirements and expedite goods as needed to meet desired customer service levels of inventory.
Primary responsibilities:
Inventory and PO Management
• Manage inventory levels and flow of goods to meet the demand plan, safety stock levels and prevent stock outs on both basic in-line styles and seasonal styles
• Understand supplier matrix and be able to issue POs according to suggested order needs within capacity limits by supplier/machine type
• Run and format supplier forecast for order preparation and summarize variances from the prior month’s forecast
• Analyze inventory needs and have knowledge of expected transit times by location to determine shipping method for skus, expediting as needed to meet safety stock levels
• Manage and help track inbound shipments and open orders and identify impacts on inventory availability when there is a change
Analysis:
• Work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, operations and customer service on new product launches and communicate any foreseeable delays
• Analyze and Report weekly OOS list for skus with critically low inventory levels and alert customer service on future stock out risks
• Analyze and respond to Customer service, sales and international orders requests on stock and availability to fill
• Notify planner if actual orders exceed forecast in any given channel or month and notify customer service of order errors that need to be corrected due to date errors
• Pull booking program results and color breakdowns for seasonal items in pre-season planning
Position requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business (Finance/Accounting/Supply Chain/Procurement)
• 0-3 years of planning, supply chain or analyst experience
• Outstanding quantitative and analytical skills
• Microsoft Excel Proficiency is a must
• Excellent communication and follow up skills
• Attention to detail and data mining focus
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Confidence in independent work while also excelling in teamwork and collaboration
Desired skills:
• Knowledge of inventory management, planning or supply planning processes in a retailer/distributor environment
• Familiarity with Demand and Supply Planning Systems (DemandCaster is a plus)
• Familiarity with ERP systems (NetSuite is a plus)
