Social Media Content Creator Intern

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative individual interested in a 6-month internship (with the potential for hire) as our Social Media Content Creator. This individual will collaborate with internal brand teams to create uniquely distinctive social content. While the focus will primarily be on producing and shooting breakthrough and brand-focused video content for TikTok and Instagram, the work will occasionally extend to other social media platforms, including Facebook and Pinterest. You will support and collaborate on the end-to-end creative process with our social media, creative, and content studio teams, from trend research to content activation, understanding industry and customer needs, and conceptualizing, planning, producing, and executing digital content and engagement plans.

Role and responsibility:
• Collaborate with our creative and social teams to ideate and concept potential content to capture on set in support of brands and/or campaigns
• Shoot and edit short-form video content for various clients and projects for social apps such as TikTok and Instagram Reels
• In-app editing capabilities and experience
• Use brand guidelines and standards to propose decisions related to the selection of music, imagery, and color grading
• Maintain awareness of trends – how the style of content and audience differs by platform and how to insert a brand into the appropriate calendar and cultural moment
• Research topics, behaviors, trends, and tools in the social and ephemeral content arena, presenting findings with agency teams bi-weekly
• In downtime, provide as-needed assistance to our in-house photographer on and off set, such as testing support and lighting set-up to grow your general knowledge in photography and production

About you:
• Strong knowledge of social media trends, hashtags, best practices, engagement strategies, and emerging platforms to identify new opportunities for engagement and growth
• Experience creating engaging content on different social media platforms with a solid understanding of TikTok and Instagram Reels platforms, including their unique features, trends, and audience preferences, as well as how to optimize videos for maximum reach and engagement
• Ability to turn a concept into compelling content
• Curiosity to learn based on interest (real-time mentorship in various aspects of commercial production, including creative and technical)
• Eye for design, color, and composition with the ability to instill a sense of personality in both capturing and editing content
• Digital Media or Photography experience (ideal but not required)
• Design and layout experience (a plus but not required)
• 0-2 years of experience in a related field

Technical experience and requirements:
• Experience with a camera (including iPhone)
• Familiarity with Filmic Pro or other professional video-capturing apps
• Adobe Suite of programs (a plus but not required)
• AfterEffects (preferred, not required)
• In-app editing experience (templates, transitions, text, music, etc.)
