I woke up this morning to Plaza Midwood abuzz with the overnight appearance of a full moon on Central Avenue.

The Facts

  • Bart Simpson’s butt is painted on the side of Reggae Central. That’s all we’ve got.

While some of us find this hilarious, others are offended by Bart Simpson’s bare bootay flashing innocent passersby and want it removed.

Plaza Midwood Nextdoor

I dropped in to Reggae Central to scoop this hard-hitting breaking news story only to find that Carolyn, the shop owner, and Stan, the architect whose studio is upstairs where Bart’s butt is painted, had no idea it was even there.

I showed them a picture of it to which they both laughed. Stan thinks he heard someone up there on the roof this morning but when he looked no one was there. Carolyn simply said, “Some graffiti, it just doesn’t bother me.”

That, my friends, is that. Unless of course neighbors insist on having it removed, in which case the building owner will have to pay to have it repainted.

So elusive cartoon butt painter of Plaza Midwood, show yourself. Who’s taking credit for this one?
