Gallery Associate
Overview:
Anne Neilson Fine Art is a gallery in the heart of South Park where we exist to be a lighthouse in the community by giving back to the community through the sales of art. We represent over 50 various artists from emerging to established. The Gallery Associate position is roughly 30 hours a week (plus any events necessary) position. The Gallery Associate is responsible for maintaining ANFA social media presence, fine art sales, and assisting the Director in the day-to-day operations.
Duties and responsibilities:
• Generate sales by providing expert and exceptional customer service to gallery clients regarding fine art collection curation
• Communicate with artists regarding possible commissions, sold artworks, and inventory
• Be knowledgeable about individual ANFA artist mediums, background, and artwork inventory
• Social Media – create and post blog material on artists and gallery events, as well as create content for daily/weekly social media postings and stories
• Assist Gallery Director with the day to day operations of the gallery and any needs of Director
• Uphold and promote gallery mission to give back through art and be a lighthouse in our community
• Learn all gallery programs including, but not limited to: Quickbooks, ArtCloud, Dropbox, and MailChimp
• Collaborate with ANFA team for artist roster based on client needs and market trends
• Maintain gallery organization and cleanliness
• Assist in the planning, marketing, and attend all gallery hosted events
• Coordinate with ANFA team for scheduling gallery hours and Saturday coverage
• Attend ANFA team meetings
• Assist clients in framing of purchased artworks
• Be knowledgeable about art mediums, fine art safety, installation, and curation
• Coordinate with ANFA team and in-house designer on exhibition branding and marketing materials/plans
• Uphold gallery confidentiality
• Be knowledgeable of all Anne Neilson brands and happenings including Anne Neilson Home products and Anne Neilson original angels/artwork
Experience and skills:
• Degree or equivalent experience. Degree in art history, art management, studio art, business, etc preferred
• Customer service and sales skills
• Passion for fine art and connecting with clients
• Strong social media skills
• Graphic design & photography skills are a major plus
• Adobe Suite knowledge a plus, specifically photoshop
• Ability to work independently as a self-starter as well as collaboratively with the team
• Driver’s license
• Ability to work on Saturdays (multiple a month)
Physical demands:
There are some physical demands in this position with exhibition flips, artwork rotation, and artwork sales. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 lbs. Employee must be able to stand for extended periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and carry/move artwork.
