“Picasso Landscapes: Out of Bounds” is drawing huge weekend crowds to The Mint Museum.
The background: The exhibition features more than 45 works spanning Pablo Picasso’s full career, and The Mint Museum is the only museum on the East Coast to host the exhibition.
- “Picasso Landscapes” is on view at Mint Museum Uptown at Levine Center for the Arts through May 21.
Also currently on view at Mint Museum Uptown is “Fashion Reimagined: Themes & Variations 1760 – Now.” The exhibition celebrates the 50th anniversary of the founding of the museum’s fashion collection and includes four centuries of fashion for men and women.

A trip to the Mint Museum Uptown is a great way to spend a Saturday, but there’s a lot to love about visiting during the week, too.
- In addition to fewer crowds, there are special experiences and discounted admission at different times throughout the week.
Here are six ways to see The Mint Museum’s current exhibitions.
A lunch date
Mariposa, the on-site restaurant at Mint Museum Uptown, is the perfect place to step out for some sunshine during your lunch hour, especially if you work near Uptown.
- The restaurant serves shareable small plates inspired by cuisines from all over the world.
How it’s done: Enjoy the warm weather, a few small plates and a skyline view on Mariposa’s terrace, then see the exhibitions without the weekend crowds.
- Mariposa is open for lunch 11am–3pm Tuesday–Friday.
An after-school excursion
Students in grades K–12 are admitted free to “Picasso Landscapes: Out of Bounds.”
- For adults, general admission to the museum and “Picasso Landscapes” is $25.
Stop by after school during the week before venturing for ice cream at Golden Cow Creamery and a walk around Romare Bearden Park, both a block away from the museum.

Wednesdays after work
How it’s done: General admission to The Mint Museum, the Bechtler, and the Gantt Center, is free 5–9pm Wednesdays as part of Wednesday Night Live, making it possible to see “Fashion Reimagined” and “Picasso Landscapes” for only $10.
Date night Friday
The strategy: The museum is open until 9pm every Friday. Tour the exhibition, then grab craft cocktails and a few small plates at Mariposa or choose from one of many Uptown restaurants nearby.
- Just a short walk from Mint Museum Uptown is Brevard Court, an open-air courtyard with several bars and restaurants.
Become a member
With so much going on at The Mint Museum, it’s a good time to become a member. An annual membership starts at $60 and includes:
