Like most girls in the world, one of my New Year’s resolutions is to get in shape. Call me basic; it is what it is. As I pondered the many ways I could get my fitness on, I stumbled upon a Groupon for Arrichion Hot Yoga.
It was a deal I couldn’t turn down: 20 Hot Yoga or Circuit Training Classes at Arrichion Hot Yoga for $25. For anyone who’s participated in a hot yoga class before, you know that’s a steal. So of course I bought it and decided to give Arrichion a try.
Now, I’ve done hot yoga before. It was about two years ago and not at a studio in Charlotte, but I knew what to expect. One hundred degree temperatures. Sweat. Sweat. And more sweat. For anyone who’s never tried it, I highly recommend it. You will be swimming in your own sweat. And you will feel awesome.
As I stepped into the yoga room for the 5 p.m. Krysallos class (aka lots of core and Pilates-esque movements), I was quickly reminded of what I was getting myself into. I mentally prepared myself for 45 minutes of sweat dripping in my eyes and a test of my physical endurance that I could never get in a gym.
As I settled in on my mat, with my face inches away from a random girl’s soon to be sweaty armpit, I braced myself for impact. It was tough. It was hot. But, it was so worth it. At the end of the class, I had such a feeling of accomplishment.
There’s no better feeling than lying on your drenched yoga mat and thinking, “I did it. This class did not defeat me. I can conquer the world.” That may be a bit dramatic, but seriously, if you’ve never tried it, you should. Start your New Year’s with hot yoga and get started on your resolutions. I promise you won’t regret it.
The staff at Arrichion is pleasant, the facility is clean, and the workout is great. Also, Arrichion is located next door to Wooden Robot Brewery, so there’s no shame in grabbing a cold brew to reward all your hard work.
Get your own Groupon to Arrichion before they’re all gone here.
