People Director

Overview:
The People Director plays an important role in our leadership team. As the People Director, you will provide harmonization of people initiatives among the Silver Falcon Capital family of brands, which includes industries such as fast casual and fine dining, consumer packaged goods, family office and capital investment. You will help attract the right talent based off specific business goals, support adoption of performance management by explaining what is needed and how it will benefit employee development, and work with leadership to implement training and development programs that meet firm needs.

You must be comfortable leveraging resources from Silver Falcon Capital and be able to apply standards to brand companies. You must have the ability to work together with the President of Silver Falcon Capital, as well as direct with brand leaders to build relationships, identify team member needs and deliver the appropriate people solutions.

This opportunity is a hybrid between client facing strategy and solution, with a background in standard corporate HR processes. This role will need to take a people centered approach to support a strong and identifiable culture that drives talent attraction. The focus will be on driving collaborative working practices and nurturing skill development across the full life cycle from talent planning and acquisition to developing our people, capabilities and equipping our leaders with the skills to drive a positive experience for our teams.

What you’ll do:
• Take an active role in creating a high-performance culture by ensuring leaders and our people are equipped to deliver all aspects of the performance cycle to enable our people to keep growing by ensuring each person has tangible goals, regular feedback 1:1’s, reviews, 360’s & actionable plans
• Coach and support managers and our people to drive high performance, providing advice on methods to enhance performance and enacting development plans
• Involvement in the design, roll-out and embedding of people practices, processes, and policies, which positively impact our people experience, a culture of inclusion and employee wellbeing
• We are looking for someone that is up to date on legislative changes, legal practices and labor laws, adhere to industrial relation (IR) policies to facilitate conflicting situations, and review feedback to ensure strong engagement
• Utilize performance data alongside relevant salary benchmarks and performance data to provide justified and equitable recommendations for rewards, promotions and pay reviews
• Monitor and add value to a positive employee lifecycle from onboarding, performance, and development through every possible touchpoint, including exit
• Proactively drive succession planning and work with Leadership to champion the development and progression of talent into open roles, as well as reducing risk of key skills and capabilities
• Further develop and enhance our benefit and wellbeing offering
• Use a metrics driven approach to show the commercial impact that the People team brings to our business

Specific requirements include:
• You will be based in Charlotte, N.C., with the ability to travel up to 20% of the time
• Bachelor’s Degree plus 7+ years Human Resources leadership experience is required
• Ideally you will have a proven track record in a People role from a professional services or commercial environment. It would be preferable that you have had experience working in a matrix environment with several different stakeholders
• We’re looking for someone who approaches solving people-related issues with a solutions-based, people-first approach
• Works smart and takes a solution-focused approach to challenges raised and future opportunities
• You should have generalist exposure to all elements of the employee lifecycle and be able to turn your hand to several opportunities
• You can successfully navigate the needs of the business and the needs of its staff
• Adapt well to changing conditions and new ways of thinking; are courageous in offering innovative creative ideas and thoughtful solutions
• You should be comfortable working with a smaller (but fast growing) firm where larger support structures are still being established – so we need you to have the ability to be influential in delivering change
• You are a strong collaborator and communicator
• You have a passion for all thing People and Culture related, are an avid learner and always looking for ways to improve the way things are done
• Enjoys building relationships with key stakeholders within both WPP and our networks and maintains a collaborative global network whilst protecting our business’s interests
• A curiosity of emerging trends, developments, and innovations in the industry, thinking through how these can blend for business advantage
