North Carolina’s favorite cherry soda has an extra kick.

What’s happening: NoDa Brewing is partnering with Cheerwine to release a new Cheerwine Ale.

Why it matters: Cheerwine, which originated in Salisbury, has been a Southern staple for more than 100 years, and NoDa Brewing is one of Charlotte’s oldest craft breweries.

Details: Cheerwine Ale, which is 5.2% ABV, comes in 16 oz. four-pack cans. It’s now available at Food Lion, select Harris Teeters, Lowes Foods and Total Wine.

  • It’ll be available on draft at NoDa Brewing’s taproom at 12pm today.
  • It’s also on draft at select Charlotte and Triangle restaurants and bars.

What’s next: In the coming weeks, it will be available at Publix, Ingles and local bottle shops throughout North and South Carolina.
