Advancement Administrator
Augustine Literacy Project® – Charlotte (ALP) is a Charlotte-based non-profit with a mission to improve the reading, writing, and spelling skills of young, aspiring readers in under-resourced communities by providing free, long-term, one-on-one instruction from highly trained tutors. ALP pursues this mission utilizing a one-on-one tutoring methodology for students in first, second and third grades built on the research-based Orton-Gillingham method. ALP’s vision is that all children have access to reading instruction that meets their individual needs and improves their opportunities to be successful in school and in life.
Overview:
Are you ready to make a difference? Do you believe that all children have a right to learn to read? Can you spot trends in data and behavior that can be leveraged for results? Do you thrive when people and information are organized and aligned for effectiveness? Are you more of a behind the scenes person who enjoys seeing your preparation and analysis used for improvement? Have you ever been accused of being a “data geek”?
If this is you, ALP would love to meet you. We are seeking diverse candidates for an entry level administrative position in our development department. The position is crucial to expanding the work and reach of ALP. Our early literacy program is the gold standard for equipping volunteers to be reading interventionists within CMS. We are rapidly expanding our tutor pool every year and are ready for explosive growth. Because we do not charge for our services, ALP is committed to raising funds from the community.
This position reports to the Director of Development and will support all efforts related to fundraising, communications, events and member/donor relations.
