Store Operations Associate
Overview:
Dominique DeLaney Interior Design will be opening a retail boutique (The Shoppe) and is seeking a Store Operations Associate to be the first point of contact with our customers. This position is ideal for an outstanding retail professional who understands front and back of house operations, and loves interior design/home decor. This individual will be able to embody our brand and cultivate customer relationships, while creating an exceptional shopping experience, and is able to fulfill back of house processes to ensure the sales floor runs smoothly. This PART TIME position will work primarily in store: Friday 1pm-6pm (in store), Saturday 10am-6pm (in store), with several hours dedicated in our design firm office space: Friday 9am-12pm (in office).
Responsibilities include:
Front of house
• As first point of contact for customers, embody our brand to cultivate new/growing relationships
• Create an enjoyable experience for our customers by ensuring consistent customer service from initial contact, through their shopping experience, and at close of sale
• Helping customers select items to outfit their homes, from decor to customized furniture
• Recognizing when customers may need design services, introducing them to our in-house Design Assistant for further help
• Support sales floor as the primary associate responsible for checkout, ensuring the process is seamless
Back of house
• Accept inventory deliveries, confirming accurate items and counts, and communicating receipt of inventory to our Purchasing Coordinator
• Manage inventory process: unboxing, creation of SKUs within our inventory system, and tagging products to be placed on sales floor or placed in back stock
• Merchandising/styling products placed on sales floor
• Partner with Purchasing Coordinator to provide inventory reports/analytics from inventory system and based on customer feedback
• Provide Principal customer feedback regarding product requests/suggestions
• Provide assistance with social media content creation, as needed
• Assist with implementation and working pop-ups/store events
Requirements include:
• 2 years of retail experience
• 2 years of merchandising/styling experience preferred
• Computer, technology, and social media savvy
• Business minded, understanding sales opportunities and customer appreciation
• Gifted at building and maintaining relationships, working as a team unit
• Positive customer-based attitude, with clear verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multi-task, work independently, and problem solve
• Must be able to lift items up to 50lbs
